Sports and Activities FAQ

  • Jubilee REACH is a nonprofit organization in Bellevue, WA, with the mission to bring healing, build community, and transform the lives of students and families in Bellevue. One way we do this is through our partnership with the Bellevue School District (BSD). Through this partnership, we offer free after-school recreational sports and activities to students enrolled in the Bellevue School District. Currently, we have Site Coaches in 17 schools across the district who work to cultivate students' sense of belonging during and after school. Distinctively, Jubilee REACH activities and sports place a higher emphasis on character development and sportsmanship over student skill level to build transformational student relationships and community.

  • Each activity season lasts 6 to 8 weeks. Club days and offerings vary at each school. Sports practices occur 3 to 4 days a week, depending on the school. Our sports seasons include Game Days on Wednesdays from after school until 5pm. If added to a team, students are expected to attend all practices and games. Each school's schedule information is communicated in the pre-registration email.

  • On the day pre-registration opens, students will be emailed a link to a Microsoft Form. Students who would like to participate in the current season's activity need to complete the form by the deadline. Although we do our best to accommodate as many interested students as possible, completion of this form does not guarantee that your student will be added to the team.

  • The pre-registration form must be completed by your student. Our pre-registration form only accepts responses from a BSD email address, and since only students are issued a BSD email address, the form will only be accessible to them. You may assist your student in completing the pre-registration form by helping them search their Outlook account for the pre-registration email from their Site Coach or school administrator. Once the pre-registration email is found, have your student fill out the form.

  • As a student, you should have access to the pre-registration form. Make sure you are signed into your Bellevue School District email account before clicking the link. If you are still having problems, reach out to your Site Coach.

  • Jubilee REACH utilizes a Microsoft Form to gather pre-registration information directly from students. If your student is placed on a team, they will be added to the sport or activity in FinalForms. We use FinalForms for emergency information, tracking attendance, and communicating with families throughout the season. FinalForms information must be updated and signed by both parents and students prior to student participation in the activity.

  • We open pre-registration for 2 weeks to allow students and families that might need help overcoming barriers like technological access to receive assistance from our staff. If more students pre-register than we have capacity for, all students who submitted the form are entered into a lottery-based system and will have the chance to be placed on the team. Students not placed on the team will be put on a waitlist. If spots become available, students on the waitlist will be added to the team.

  • Please email the Site Coach at your school, since there may still be room on the team. If the team is at maximum capacity, the Site Coach will place your student on the waitlist. It is best to have your student either email their Site Coach or have them talk to their Site Coach during the school day.

  • We encourage all students to have the following equipment for each sport. If you are having difficulty locating these items, reach out to your Site Coach for support.

Soccer: Shin guards (required), tall socks (required), water bottle (required), athletic shorts, and turf cleats (preferred) or running shoes

Football: Water bottle (required), athletic shorts, and turf cleats (preferred) or running shoes

Basketball: Water bottle (required), athletic shorts, and basketball shoes (preferred) or running shoes

Golf: Water bottle (required) and comfortable athletic clothing

Cross Country: Water bottle (required), athletic shorts, and running shoes

  • Club and Practice Days – Activity buses are available at most schools to transport students home after activities who would normally ride the bus after school. Check your school's website for more information about Activity Bus routes. If your student attends a choice school (Big Picture or International), you are responsible for picking up your student after clubs and practices.

Game Days – For away games, we offer a bus that takes students to the game and returns them to their school. No transportation is offered once the student returns to their home school (for both home and away games). Students and parents are responsible for coordinating transportation home after all games.

  • All volunteers are required to submit an application and sign up for an interview with our Volunteer Specialist for Jubilee REACH in the Schools. You can find the application HERE.
