Sports and Activities FAQ
-
Jubilee REACH is a nonprofit organization in Bellevue, WA, with the mission to bring healing, build community, and transform the lives of students and families in Bellevue. One way we do this is through our partnership with the Bellevue School District (BSD). Through this partnership, we offer free after-school recreational sports and activities to students enrolled in the Bellevue School District. Currently, we have Site Coaches in 17 schools across the district who work to cultivate students' sense of belonging during and after school. Distinctively, Jubilee REACH activities and sports place a higher emphasis on character development and sportsmanship over student skill level to build transformational student relationships and community.
-
Each activity season lasts 6 to 8 weeks. Club days and offerings vary at each school. Sports practices occur 1 to 2 days a week, depending on the school. Our sports seasons include Game Days on Wednesdays from after school until 3pm. If added to a team, students are expected to attend all practices and games. Each school's schedule information is communicated in the registration email.
-
On the day registration opens, families will be emailed a link to a JotForm. Families who are interested in the current season's sport or activity need to complete the form by the deadline. Although we do our best to accommodate as many interested students as possible, completion of this form does not guarantee that your student will be added to the team.
-
Jubilee REACH strives to offer all interested students a fair chance of participating in our sports and activities. We open registration for 2 weeks to allow families that might need help overcoming barriers like technological access to receive assistance from our staff. Once registration ends, all students who registered are entered into a lottery system and will be given the same chance of being placed on the team. Students not selected by the lottery will be placed on a waitlist.
-
Please email the Site Coach at your school, since there may still be room on the team. If the team is at maximum capacity, the Site Coach will place your student on the waitlist.
-
We encourage all students to have the following equipment for each sport. If you are having difficulty locating these items, reach out to your Site Coach for support.
Soccer: Shin guards (required), tall socks (required), water bottle (required), athletic shorts, and turf cleats (preferred) or running shoes
-
Club and Practice Days – Activity buses are available at most schools to transport students home after activities who would normally ride the bus after school. Check your school's website for more information about Activity Bus routes.
Game Days – For away games, we offer a bus that takes students to the game and returns them to their school. No transportation is offered once the student returns to their home school (for both home and away games). Families are responsible for coordinating transportation home after all games.
