Dear Jubilee Elves,

Before we get too far into the new year, we want to take you back to early December and the impact you had on Christmas for many families in this community.

Thank you for being an Elf and for the gift giving, donations, toys, volunteer time and prayers. Intentionally and simply, Jubilee Elves is structured to invite and engage people like you to care for some of the most vulnerable families in this community. It relies on your heart, compassion, empathy and faith to step toward the darkness, with the intent of shining light. This is what loving your neighbor looks like, and because of your response to the call, 650 families and 1400 children experienced Christmas with joy and brightness.

Love remains the core component of each part of Jubilee Elves; without it, the giving and receiving of gifts and toys becomes a mere transaction. And love was poured out through your actions in many beautiful ways:

Gift Giving:

· A grandma and granddaughter sponsored three girls the granddaughter’s same age, wanting to share a personal connection to them.

· An Elf who prayed over her gifts as she shopped and wrapped.

· The radiant beauty of the room holding all 1400 delivered gifts, showing the care put into each one to be special.

Volunteers:

· One volunteer recognized the love, joy and hope she was giving to others was in-turn being given back to her.

· Having been a vulnerable family in his youth, one volunteer was filled with joy and love to serve others he could empathize with.

· Seeing a woman her own age overwhelmed in the moment, one volunteer calmed her with a hug.

Families Receiving:

· One dad being stunned at what was being offered to him, “Without this, we wouldn’t have Christmas this year.”

· One mom quietly crying with a volunteer, overwhelmed by the love she said she felt.

· One mom and grown daughter being told they were loved by a volunteer and embracing her as the response.

Extras:

· The two people, a mother and her son, who baked and gave hundreds of loaves of special Mexican bread, so families could enjoy a comfort of home.

· The woman who collected beautiful ornaments and happily passed them to families herself.

· The warm blankets and fresh wreaths which were the final items given to families and brought such smiles.
