History:

In 2006, a group of local artisans and friends gathered together to discuss the possibility of creating an art program at Jubilee REACH.  Their hope was to develop a program that would support Jubilee REACH's overall mission, to Love, Listen and Learn through the visual arts. An old janitorial closet was available and that is where the Jubilee REACH Art Studio was born. Jubilee REACH staff, volunteers and donors an old cramped, dark and dusty storage closet was transformed into what is now the Art Studioat Jubilee REACH.  Through the generosity of local artisans and donors, professional "artist quality" materials and supplies were given to the studio in hopes of sharing them with participants of the Art Studio Program who likely would not receive such quality supplies at home.
Over the past several years, various Before/After Program staff and volunteer leaders have led a variety of art and craft projects, many of which are currently on display in the art studio.  

In 2009, The Art Club was formed after students from the Before/After School Program expressed interest in gathering together over the summer through the grown friendships they had developed through art.  As an act to establish themselves as a bonafide club, they elected club officers and created club bylaws!  These officers currently oversee club activities including field trips, fundraisers, and weekly meetings.

In the fall of 2010 another group, Craft Bandits was formed in effort to bring together adult artisans in effort to share ideas and talent with sole purpose to raise support for Jubilee REACH.  This group of eclectic artisans provides one another with community, friendship and collaboration in the visual arts.  Many of these same artisans also volunteer and support other JR programs.

2010-2011 PROGRAMS

AFTER SCHOOL ART ENRICHMENT
Meets Tuesdays, Thursdays 4:15-5:30pm;  Monday & Friday Instructor Needed;  5th-9th grade.  Participants must be registered in the After School Program.

The ART CLUB 
Meets Wednesdays, 2:30-5:30 PM, excluding school holidays & breaks.  Summer schedule TBD

CRAFT BANDITS
Meets 1st Monday of every month. 10am – 2pm Open Studio Time.  Projects are donated to Heart & Home Thrift Store
