Jubilee REACH

Community Care

Community Care is the effort of Jubilee REACH to come alongside individuals and
families experiencing crisis or facing continuing challenges, in order to offer
hope and help through caring relationships and continuing support.
Jubilee’s multiple programs REACH out to the community and our commitment
to “Love, Listen and Learn” builds trust that allows people to reveal their
deeper needs.   JR’s trained volunteers are matched with “care
receivers” and initiate, establish and maintain PEER relationships
with participants to provide Presence, Empathy, Encouragement
and Resources. These PEER relationships are intentional, not incidental;
continuing not episodic; deep not superficial. They are not focused on “fixing”
people or situations but rather on walking with people through the realities of
life showing love and inspiring hope in Jesus’ name.
The purpose of Community Care is to…

  1. Offer a
    “hand up” through authentic relationship

  2. Help others
find opportunity in the midst of crisis

  3. Inspire hope

  4. Express the
love of God in practical ways

Caregivers implement PEER relationships…
Presence – coming and staying alongside of
individuals and families experiencing crisis and difficult circumstances.
Empathy – validating the care receiver’s
feelings and engaging their challenges.
Encouragement – supplying empathy, understanding and
hope through establishing and cultivating authentic caring relationships.
Resources – sharing relational, spiritual and
practical realities that can be applied in care receiver’s lives.
Trained
volunteers initiate and maintain these PEER relationships and provide
distinctively Christian care.
